Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD)

The prae-post fotographs show up the follwoing orthopedical change: Most obviously, the very slouched head position is changed into a vertical head position, the other position change is less obvious: The upward-held shoulder on the left is exchanged to equal shoulders. In young children, face- and vertebral-column scoliosis are often associated with the diagnosis of Attention-Deficit-Disorder.

After a two-year observatoin lapse, the ADD-symptoms of a now 14 year old boy receded completely:

What was quite visible in him was, as it were, a change of nature. Six weeks after treatment, he depicts vividly how he intimidated his worst enemy  in scooter  competition, because he meanwhile does have better head control and better sense of equilibrium; we were told that he became the representative of his class. After two years, in a long talk with the mother, we were told that her son concentrates well, that he is calm and socially competent. She reported as follows: 

The ADD-symptoms have receded importantly ("My son is doing wonderfully"). The quality of sleep is reported to be good, meanwhile he is 1,60 meters tall ("he grew rapidly") and holds himself very upright. His social contacts with other children have improved, in facing his peers he became more self-conscious ("four best friends") and his timidity towards adults had disappeared completely. In defending his interests, he remains quiet and repeats his argumentation with serenity ("if he didn't agree to something or if that appeared unjust to him, then he would speak"). He likes to do home work and works in advance ("although he doesn't need the home work immediately, he does it"). He has very good marks in general and even doesn't have difficulties in maths; in contrast to the times before, he performs his school work rather effortlessly ("all of that without learning").

We assume the following: The individual who did receive Upper Cervical Therapy as a child as a prophylactic measure, doesn't develop scoliosis, her or his blood perfusion to the rhomencephalon is mostly constant. The atlas loop mechanism, which helps maintaining regular blood flow in the face of head movements, is functioning fully. As a consequence, the child won't endure any growth deficits. After therapy, ADD-children develop surprisingly and become calm, socially competent children. 

The very first remark parents usually make: "Our child sleeps better!" In our opinion, upper cervical asymmetry produces permanent blood perfusion disorders including in the sleep center through permanent stretching of the vertebral arteries at the level of the atlas bow. In young age, there is  reduced supply of the elder brain areas (brain stem, cerebellum), because the latter are constantly stretched in the day and night rhythm. 

A number of ADD-children have been treated, who had similarly positive courses. Therefore, upper cervical therapy seems to be causatively indicated in this symptomatology.
